Why are there traces of coffee in the grinder when I first receive the machine?
Possible traces of coffee in the grinder are normal. This is the result of settings tests performed on the machine before sale, proof of the meticulous care and attention De'Longhi invest in their products.
What should I do before using the coffee machine for the first time?
Before first use, rinse all removable parts that come into contact with water or milk, such as the water tank and milk carafe, with hot water.
Why can't I remove the water tank?
Try gently tilting the water tank away from the machine. Once it is released from its position, it should detach more easily.
Why does steam come out from the top of the machine after making coffee?
This is normal. The steam is water vapour released from the coffee grounds after brewing. It is automatically discharged through the grounds container as part of the machine's normal operation.
Why does my milk have large bubbles, splash from the milk spout or have too little froth?
For best results, use cold milk at refrigerator temperature, around 5°C. If you're using plant-based milk, use 'Barista' version, which is generally formulated for better frothing.
If the results are still unsatisfactory, try using a different brand of milk.
Why is my milk still frothing poorly even with the right milk?
Make sure the milk carafe and its lid are cleaned thoroughly. Refer to “Cleaning the milk carafe after use” and “Thorough cleaning of milk carafe” from the User Manual for more information.
