Care for the Inner Cooking Pan

The inner cooking pan features a non-stick coating that helps prevent rice from sticking during cooking. To help maintain its condition, follow these care instructions.

During Preparation

Remove any foreign matter (such as small stones) from the rice before cooking.

Do not use whisks or other metal utensils to wash or clean the rice inside the

cooking pan.

Do not place a metal strainer inside the inner cooking pan.

Use the inner cooking pan only with this rice cooker.

After Cooking

Do not pour vinegar directly into the inner cooking pan (such as when preparing sushi rice).

Do not use metal ladles or serving utensils when serving cooked food.

Avoid striking the inner cooking pan with the rice paddle or other utensils.

Cleaning the Inner Cooking Pan

To help prolong the life of the non-stick coating:

Wash the inner cooking pan using a soft sponge or cloth.

Clean the pan soon after using seasonings or sauces.

Do not place utensils or dishes inside the inner cooking pan.

Do not wash the inner cooking pan in a dishwasher or dish dryer.

Do not use thinner, bleach, abrasive cleaners, nylon brushes, metal scourers or melamine sponges.

Is It Normal for the Non-Stick Coating to Wear?

Yes. Over time, the non-stick coating may become discoloured or gradually wear with normal use. This does not affect the rice cooker's cooking performance or food safety.

White Rice (Regular) Short grain and white rice 1-10 Cooks rice to a regular consistency.
White Rice (Firmer) Short grain and white rice 1-10 Produces a firmer, less sticky texture.
Quick Short grain and white rice 1-10 Shorter cooking time. Rice may be slightly harder.
Long Grain White Long grain white rice 1-10 Depending on the rice brand, it may be slightly harder than normal.
Congee Short grain rice 0.5-1 The recommended amount of ingredients should be 30-50% of
the rice weight.

Chop ingredients into small pieces and place on top of rice
without mixing them into the rice.

Ingredients that do not cook easily should not be used in large amounts.

Boil green leafy vegetables separately and add them after the rice congee has finished cooking.

Partially polished rice can't be cooked.
Brown Rice Medium and long grain brown rice 2-8 If white rice or rinse-free rice is mixed with brown rice, it may boil over or imperfect cooking may occur. Therefore, a mixture like this is not recommended.
GABA Brown Medium and long grain brown rice 2-8 This setting yields rice that is softer than the BROWN menu setting by keeping the temperature in the Inner Cooking Pan at about 40°C for about 2 hours before cooking the rice rice.

Multi Grain Mixed grains 2-6 The hardness of the finished multi grain rice varies depending on the types of millet and blending.

Types with a high percentage of millet or large grains (10 mm or
more in diameter) may be cooked rather hard. Cooking multi grain rice after soaking it in water for 2 hours will make the finished multi grain rice a little softer.

Water can be adjusted for a firmer or softer texture.

For firmer quinoa: Use less water.

For soft quinoa: Use more water.
