Barista Guidance
Step-by-step guidance with real time feedback from the Impress™ Puck System, precise extraction & hands-free silky smooth microfoam.

Impress™ Puck System. Less mess. Less fuss.
Intelligent dosing, assisted 10kg tamping and auto correction of the next dose to achieve a precise puck, finished with a 7º barista twist. Simplifies the steps needed to grind, dose and tamp to create an impressive puck.

Alternative milk settings
Auto MilQ™ features three new alternative milk settings for almond, oat and soy milks which calibrate air injection time and temperature specific to the type of milk you choose.

Auto MilQ hands-free microfoam
The automatic steam wand allows you to adjust the milk temperature between 40°C to 75°C and 8 levels of texture to suit your taste. Delivers silky smooth microfoam with at least one million micro bubbles per ml that enhances the flavour of the coffee and is essential for pouring latte art. Or hands-on manual texturing like a barista.

Enjoy new Cold Brew and Cold Espresso
Extracting at lower temperatures reduces acidic notes, producing a light & smooth flavour profile. Cold Brew is extracted in under 3 minutes while the crema topped Cold Espresso in just under 2 minutes, unlocking a wide range of delicious cold coffee recipes.

Specifications
How do I fill the water tank?
Make sure the bean hopper is locked securely in position and the water filter is properly fitted inside the water tank. Remove the water tank using the handle, then fill it with cold potable tap water up to the MAX marking.
Place the tank back into the machine and press it down firmly to ensure it is correctly seated and attached.
Important: If the water level falls below the MIN marking, the espresso machine will not operate.
How do I install and fill the coffee bean hopper?
Insert the bean hopper into position on top of the espresso machine, then turn the locking dial to secure it in place. Once locked, fill the hopper with whole coffee beans.
For best results, use whole roasted coffee beans rather than pre-ground coffee.
What type of coffee beans should I use?
The espresso machine is designed for whole roasted coffee beans.
Avoid placing green, unroasted or under-roasted coffee beans into the bean hopper, as these are dense and may damage the machine's built-in burr grinder.
For better flavour, freshly roasted beans are recommended. The manual suggests using beans with a "Roasted On" date rather than a "Best Before" date, ideally around 5–20 days after roasting.
Why does my coffee taste bitter or watery?
Old coffee beans can lose flavour and may produce poorer-tasting espresso. For better results, use freshly roasted beans and avoid leaving coffee beans sitting in the hopper for extended periods.
The manual recommends using freshly roasted coffee approximately 5–20 days after its "Roasted On" date.
What is the manual grind purge function?
The Manual Grind Purge helps clear coffee grounds that may have accumulated in the grinder chute, particularly when the espresso machine has not been used for some time.
To purge the grinder, press and hold the Grind button for approximately 2 seconds and allow the grinder to run for around 5 seconds. Press the button again to stop.
If it is not manually stopped, the grind purge will automatically stop after 30 seconds.
Why is water not flowing from the group head?
There are two common causes:
The water tank is empty: Refill the water tank.
The water tank is not fully inserted or properly locked into position: Push the tank firmly into the machine and make sure the latch is closed.
Why is there no hot water?
The water tank may be empty. Check the water level and refill the tank with cold potable tap water as required.
Also make sure the tank is correctly installed and seated in the machine.
Why is my espresso pouring too quickly?
The coffee grind may be too coarse. Adjust the grinder to a finer grind setting and try again.
If changing the grind size does not resolve the issue, other espresso variables such as the coffee dose and tamp may also affect extraction.
Why is my coffee not hot enough?
There are two common possibilities:
The cup is cold: Preheat your cup before brewing.
Milk temperature is too low: If you are preparing a milk-based coffee, check the selected milk temperature setting and increase it if required.
Why does my espresso have no crema?
The coffee beans may be stale.
For better crema and flavour, use freshly roasted whole coffee beans. Breville recommends beans displaying a "Roasted On" date, ideally consumed approximately 5–20 days after roasting.
